Intern: Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking an analyst at our Boston-based public health informatics company. The analyst will curate and analyze data derived from various Epidemico surveillance systems, spanning topic areas of drug safety and infectious disease. S/he will also support the design and development of new surveillance topic areas, such as tobacco products, vaccine sentiment, and supply chain. Analyst will also contribute to presentation decks, white papers, and research projects in using novel data sources for public health surveillance.
The position will require 20 hours/week, with a flexible schedule. Some hours may be performed at home, but must be in the office at least once a week. All 20 hours of the first two weeks must be in the office for training.

Requirements
- Pursuing master’s degree in public health or related field
- Proficiency in strategically using data to achieve insights and create visualizations
- Understanding of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, patient powered research networks, blogs)
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, tobacco products, or supply chain
- Understanding of data mining and natural language processing
- Experience with data manipulation software such as Stata, R, or SAS
