Job Description
We seek a Software Engineer for our Back Bay Boston public health informatics company. The candidate would join a dynamic team of scientists, public health experts, and software engineers tackling global challenges across a wide range of population health domains, including disease outbreaks, drug safety, supply chain vulnerabilities, and more.
Applicants should have experience (or training) with Web development frameworks in JavaScript (for example, but not limited to: Angular.js, Ember.js, Backbone.js, Twitter Bootstrap, Node.js), and either PHP, Ruby or Python in *nix environment. We favor experience, and interest, across the Web stack including databases, front- and back-end development, and open source collaboration.
Strong written and verbal communication are important, as well as the ability to contribute to a team.

Requirements
- 2 years experience in Web development or degree in related field
- Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML5, ideally experience with PHP or Python
- Exposure to databases, database-driven Web development
- Experience with social programming tools (git/GitHub)
- Strong written and verbal communication

Epidemico, Ltd.
Epidemico is expanding into the European Union. In particular, we are beginning work on a large, multi-stakeholder project to improve the management of crises across the EU. Overall, the project aims to produce guidelines, and mobile apps, for enabling and encouraging users of social media to contribute to the security of citizens in crisis situations as well as other contingencies demanding search and rescue activities. We are also expanding our MedWatcher product to the European market, as part of an EU-funded consortium.
